Tribute to "Ella Mae Sanders"
June 9, 1928 - Decatur, Ill.
April 30, 2010 - Phoenix, Ore.
It's been almost a year since you moved on to your Heavenly life, and you have been missed greatly. Ella Mae, in her younger years, passed through Ashland, Ore., on a bus and fell "in love" with the quaint city, she vowed to come back to live here one day. After a successful career as a legal secretary, and after the loss of her family members, Ella Mae did just that! She moved here, and never regretted it.
Ella Mae lived a simple life, never owning a television set, a house, or a car. But, that didn't stop her. She enjoyed the many opportunities in Ashland. From attending First Baptist Church of Ashland, and doing volunteer work in the office, to being involved at the senior center, attending concerts, and walking all over town, she made the most of every moment.
Ella Mae had a great sense of humor, and laughed a lot! With Ella Mae's beautiful porcelain complexion, gorgeous white hair, the feminine way she dressed, Ella Mae very much exemplified a gracious, elegant Southern belle that had a way of brightening the space around her. Ella Mae enjoyed the moments of her 81 years to the fullest! Ella Mae's ashes were lovingly spread on the Pacific Ocean at Harris Beach. You are loved and greatly missed!
