The driver who died in Thursday's semitrailer crash on Interstate 5 near Ashland has been identified as Robert Ormerod, 69, of Shingletown, Calif.

Ormerod was driving for Youngman Trucking, of Anderson, Calif., when his truck went off the road on Interstate 5 near Exit 14 and into Bear Creek at about 4:19 p.m. Thursday.

Pieces of the truck's trailer were still being removed Friday, according to Senior Trooper Stephanie Bigman.
