Franklin H. Ross, Jr., 66, died June 19, 2010, at the V.A. Medical Center, Washington. He was born May 15, 1944, in Beloit, KS, to Franklin and Katherine Ross. At a young age, Franklin dedicated his life to Christ. His faith was important to him, and he attended church regularly.

Franklin graduated from Kansas State U and then went on to the Univ. of Kansas Medical School. He then began his career with the United States Navy, and was stationed in various locations from Thailand, Guam, California and Michigan. Upon discharge from the Navy, he began his obstetrician practice in Oregon and West Virginia. After nearly 30 years of delivering hundreds of babies, he decided to retire and began practicing preventative medicine in Ashland, OR.

Franklin enjoyed educating people on nutrition and health, time with his grandchildren, and the outdoors. Franklin was a member of the Ashland Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by father, Franklin Sr.; and sister, Marilyn Topliff. He is survived by mother, Katherine Ross, Jewell, Kans.; sons, Eric Ross, of Colorado, and Brian (Christi) Ross, of Portland; daughter, Selena Ross (Eddy Bringelson), of Portland; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Ashland Christian Fellowship, 50 W. Hersey, Ashland; Pastor Mark Anderson will officiate.
