ASHLAND — Southern Oregon University will sign an agreement with Zhengzhou University of Light Industry in China on Tuesday, pledging to provide the schools with a joint degree program.

A signing ceremony is planned in the DeBoer room at the Lenn and Dixie Hannon Library on the SOU campus at 11:30 a.m.

The university announced the deal in a press release but did not offer specifics about the degree program. Zhengzhou University of Light Industry is a public school in Zhengzhou, Henan, China.

In 2009, SOU's School of Business signed an agreement with Henan Normal University for a joint tourism and hospitality management program. Also in 2009, SOU collaborated with the Confucius Classroom at St. Mary's School in Medford, offering 28 Chinese students housing on the SOU campus.
