The Talent Police Department will collect unneeded prescription drugs as part of a drug take-back program on Sept. 25.

The collection program is part of a Drug Enforcement Administration effort to prevent prescription drugs from entering the black market. Expired, unwanted, or unused medications for are a potential source for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety, officials said.

Collection activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at sites throughout the country.

Talent Police Department at 604 Talent, Ave., Talent, joins Medford City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St., as a local drop site.

Anyone can anonymously drop off tablet or capsules of prescription medication. Intravenous solutions, injectables, and needles will not be accepted, nor will illegal drugs.
