The Empulse 6.0 will have an average range of 60 miles, the Empulse 8.0 will be capable of 80 miles between charges and the Empulse 10.0 will travel 100 miles on a single charge.

Electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo Inc. announced Thursday it will produce a second sportbike called the Empulse.

Brammo rolled out a pre-production prototype of the Empulse, saying all three production models will be capable of sustaining 100 mph.

The Ashland company said the new bikes will have both more speed and range than the Enertia, which went into production last year. The company said it is now taking orders and said it expects deliveries to commence in mid-2011.

The Empulse 6.0 will have an average range of 60 miles, the Empulse 8.0 will be capable of 80 miles between charges and the Empulse 10.0 will travel 100 miles on a single charge.

The retail price for the Empulse 6.0 is $9,995, the 8.0 is $11,995 and Empulse 10.0 goes for $13,995. All three models will be eligible for federal and state tax incentives, reducing consumer cost.

Brammo also said it is expanding its dealership network within the United States, Europe and Asia.

Brammo Chief Executive Officer Craig Bramscher will unveil the Empulse at the 2010 Red Bull Grand Prix July 24 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif.
