Two-time Grammy winner Kenny Loggins will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Britt Pavilion in Jacksonville to close Britt Festivals' 2010 season.
"He's one of our most requested and favorite artists out here on the hill ... and to have him come out here and close the season is just a terrific thrill for us," said Jim Fredericks, Britt Festivals executive director. "It's nostalgic and new and refreshing because there are still a lot of people that haven't seen him perform."
The acclaimed singer-songwriter's career spans four decades. He first gained fame working with Jim Messina in a partnership that ended in 1976. Loggins then launched a solo career that produced several rock 'n' roll hits, including "Celebrate Me Home," "Whenever I Call You Friend," "This Is It" and "Conviction of the Heart."
He collected more fans with his well-known soundtrack hits such as "I'm Alright" from "Caddyshack," "Footloose" from "Footloose," "Danger Zone" from "Top Gun," and "Nobody's Fool" from "Caddyshack II."
In 1985, he collaborated with other famed artists such as Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie on "We Are the World," a benefit recording for USA for Africa.
In the 1990s, Loggins began recording music for children. He released "Return to Pooh Corner" in 1994, and "More Songs from Pooh Corner" in 2000. Loggins' latest album is "All Join In," a collection of classic songs for the family.
Britt's final week of performances in September includes Straight No Chaser on Sept. 17; and Harry Connick Jr. on Sept. 22.
Ticket sales for all Britt concerts, including Loggins' show, will be open to the general public beginning Monday, May 17.
