An Ashland gun owner turned in an old rifle to police for destruction.

Monday 9:20 a.m. — Police performed a confidential drug investigation in the Ashland area.

Monday 2:26 p.m. — A man was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian crossing the street at the corner of Park and Ashland streets.

Monday 2:59 p.m. — A known person reported a hit-and-run in front of the Ashland library in the 400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.

Monday 5:56 p.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old man for theft after he was caught shoplifting at Market of Choice. He was cited and released.
