Responding to a call about fireworks, police discovered that four makeshift explosives consisting of soda bottles, household chemicals and aluminum foil had been exploded on the lawn near SOU's Greensprings dorms.

Friday 8:34 p.m. — Police responded with Southern Oregon University Campus Public Safety to the Greensprings Residence Halls for a report of fireworks in the 400 block of Wightman Street. There are currently no suspects or witnesses.

Friday 9:04 p.m. — Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Iowa and California streets. After further investigation, a 53-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Friday 11:07 p.m. — Police arrested a 36-year-old man for three charges of harassment, two charges of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree trespassing and second-degree disorderly conduct near the Hong Kong Bar in the first block of North Main Street. He was lodged at Jackson County Jail.

Friday 11:24 p.m. — Police responded to a loud party at a residence in the 600 block of Spring Creek Drive. Police learned that juveniles and minors had been allowed to drink and smoke marijuana at the residence, and two female juveniles were cited and released for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, and for providing a place for minors to drink. In a separate case, police found an 18-year-old woman, an adult man and a known female juvenile trespassing through the property next door while trying to evade the police. The three were cited for second-degree criminal trespassing.

Saturday 2:31 a.m. — Police responded to the 300 block of Wightman Street for a report of an unoccupied vehicle that had rolled down a hill and struck a fence at the Southern Oregon University tennis courts. SOU Campus Public Safety requested assistance from police in having the vehicle towed away.

Saturday 6:05 a.m. — Police arrested a 51-year-old man for second-degree criminal mischief in the 2200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. He was additionally found to be in violation of his parole by being intoxicated, and he was lodged at Jackson County Jail.

Saturday 3:32 p.m. — A man urinated in public in the first block of Calle Guanajuato Way.

Tuesday 1:26 a.m. — A woman reported that she received a threatening letter from an unknown suspect in the 100 block of North First Street.
