It's a Wonderful life: The heart-warming story of George Bailey of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of adventure were quashed by his notions of family obligation and civic duty, will run through Dec. 27. Evening performances are at 8 p.m.; matinees at 2 p.m. The play was adapted by James W. Rodgers from the Frank Capra film. There will be no shows Dec. 24 or 25. Tickets cost $15, $12 for seniors and students, $10 for groups of 10 or more and $5 for previews.

THE SECRET GARDEN: The award-winning musical with book and lyrics by Marsha Norman, music by Lucy Simon and book based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett will run through Jan. 3. The production will star Marian Horton as Lili, Andrew Brock as Archibald Craven, Jeremy Johnson as Dr. Neville Craven, Presila Quinby as Mrs. Matlock, Amanda Andersen as Martha and Michael Maisonneuve as Dickon. Rebecca K. Campbell directs and choreographs; Mark Reppert directs music. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $21; $19 for students and seniors. A matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24. Reserved seating will be available for an additional $2. Student rush tickets are $10 and will be offered five minutes before curtain, subject to availability. The theater's New Year's Eve Gala performance will cost an additional $25 and will include a buffet, wine and dancing to live music.

HOLIDAY MEMORIES: Russel Vandenbroucke's stage version of two classic holiday stories by Truman Capote, "A Thanksgiving Visitor" and "A Christmas Memory," will run through Dec. 31. The show takes a genuine look at the nostalgia of the holidays and a heartwarming relationship between a young boy and an elderly friend and will feature a score of original and traditional music by guitarist Mark Turnbull. Michael Hume of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival directs. Curtain is at 8 p.m. nightly, except for Dec. 21, 24 and 25. Sunday brunch matinees will be at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $21 for Sunday evenings, $25 for matinees, $25 and $27 for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and $29 and $31 for Friday and Saturday evenings.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL: This holiday favorite by Charles Dickens featuring Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and three ghostly visitors has been adapted for Oregon Stage Works by Evalyn Hansen. Michael Meyer directs. The show will run through Dec. 31 with performances at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Additional performances are set for 8 p.m. Dec. 28-30. Tickets are $17 general; $12 for students. There will be no show on Dec. 25.
