The Ashland School Board will discuss the impact of last spring's budget cuts at a Monday meeting.

The meeting will follow a brief special session to discuss administrative matters, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Helman Elementary School Library, 705 Helman St.

During the special session, the board will discuss whether to approve a contract for the renovation of Willow Wind's barn and a retirement request by Ashland High School Principal Jeff Schlecht.

After, board members will talk with district administrators about the impact of the budget cuts.

Dozens of teachers and other district workers were laid off earlier this year as administrators grappled with declining state funds for education due to the recession. The district's $22 million budget for this school year is 15 percent lower than the previous year's.
