Counterfeit $20 bills popping up again

Wednesday 10:17 a.m. — An unknown person passed a forged $20 bill some time between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning at the Chevron Station on Ashland Street. The bill was discovered when the manager of Chevron deposited the bill at Premier West Bank on Wednesday morning. Police later received a report of a counterfeit bill passed at a business in the 1200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.

Wednesday 12:53 p.m. — Police assisted the department of human services in an investigation of child abuse in the Ashland area. The case is under investigation.

Wednesday 1:39 p.m. — A citizen turned in a wallet found in the Ashland area. It was stored in police lost and found.

Wednesday 2:33 p.m. — A man observed another man attempting to enter his pickup which was parked on the street near the owner's residence near Pracht and Morton streets. The suspect fled the area on foot and was not identified.

Wednesday 5:39 p.m. — A woman reported that her residence in the 900 block of Clay Street had been unlawfully entered at some time between Wednesday, Aug. 12, and Tuesday, Aug. 18. She reported her laptop, camera, and $800 in cash missing from her home. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

Wednesday 8:49 p.m. — Police received a report of possible sexual abuse or sexual exploitation in the Ashland area from the department of human services. The case was determined to be unfounded as a crime.

Thursday 2:22 a.m. — A 22-year-old man was taken into protective custody after he was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself in the 100 block of East Main Street. He was transported to detox in Medford.
