Oregon Stage Works has extended the run of "Shirley Valentine," a one-woman show at the Ashland theater.
The comedy starring Helena de Crespo will continue through Monday, Aug. 3.
The play tells the story of a stifled Liverpool housewife whose life has grown so monotonous that she talks to the wall while making her husband's dinners. Then her friend wins an all-expenses-paid vacation for two and invites Shirley to join her. With that, her adventure in self-transformation begins.
"Our audiences are just in love with the play," says Peter Alzado, OSW's producing artistic director.
The play is staged at 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays and at 2 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 3. Tickets are $15 general and $12 for students with student ID.
