Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center has added an evening tour on Fridays and Saturdays.

The addition of a tour starting at 6 p.m. each Friday and Saturday will give visitors a chance to see the animals after the heat of the day has passed, Wildlife Images' Executive Director Dave Siddon said in a news release announcing the new schedule, adopted last week.

This summer, tours will be offered at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 and 3 p.m. daily and 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tours last about an hour and a half and require walking through the facility. Visitors will see bears, mountain lions, wolves, bobcats, fox, and a badger. They also will explore the eagle flight facility and birds of prey building to see eagles, hawks, owls, falcons and vultures.

Tours are by appointment only; reserve a place on the tour by calling Wildlife Images at 476-0222.

Wildlife Images welcomes about 32,000 people annually to its center at 11845 Lower River Road, 12 miles west of Grants Pass. There the private nonprofit corporation provides care and treatment for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife of the region, while giving the public an opportunity to see the animals up close.
