ASHLAND — Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy has expanded its relationship with Ashland electric motorcycle maker Brammo. Brammo executives said Thursday its Enertia electric motorcycle team competing in the Isle of Man TTXGP race will be sponsored by Best Buy, and be known as Team Brammo Enertia Best Buy Racing. The Isle of Man is in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland.

Brammo founder Craig Bramscher said Best Buy's backing elevates the racing program's exposure.

"Our goal with Team Brammo Enertia Best Buy Racing is to explore future capabilities, technologies and features of the production-based Enertia electric motorcycle," Bramscher said in a statement.

The bikes will be ridden by Roy Richardson and Mark Buckley in the June 12 TTXGP, the first race of its kind. The zero-emissions motorcycle race features 23 teams from around the world. The event is designed to introduce carbon-free racing to the world.
