Eric Watson, son of James and Susan, entered the Society of Jesus in August 2000.
Rev. Mr. Eric Watson, S.J., was born in 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Susan Watson who now reside in Ashland. He entered the Society of Jesus in August 2000 and professed first vows in August 2002. For the next two years, he studied philosophy and theology at Loyola University Chicago.
Eric returned to the Northwest in 2004 and worked as a post- doctoral researcher at the University of Washington and then taught chemistry at Seattle University. He completed a master of divinity degree at Regis College in Toronto in May 2009.
Prior to entering the Jesuits, Eric earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Oregon State University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Brown University. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Sunday, June 7, 8:30 a.m., at St. Aloysius Church in Spokane, Washington. In the fall, Fr. Watson will begin a new assignment as assistant professor of chemistry at Seattle University.
