Jackson County residents can drop off their latex paint cans on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18 at Rogue Disposal and Recycling.
Jackson County residents can dispose of latex paint cans at no cost on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18, at Rogue Disposal and Recycling Inc.’s “FREE Latex Paint Drop-Off Event.”
The event, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, is designed to help residents dispose of partially filled cans of latex paint in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
The FREE Latex Paint Drop-Off Event takes place at the Rogue Transfer & Recycling Station, 8001 Table Rock Road, Medford.
Any color or style of latex paint will be accepted at any size up to 5-gallon buckets. Cans of latex paint that are more than half full and in good condition will be separated and placed on a “re-use table.” These cans will be free to anyone who wants them.
The paint drop-off event will not be open to businesses or commercial painters; and 55-gallon containers or any oil-based paints will not be accepted. Oil-based paints usually have words like flammable, combustible or alkyd listed on the label, and cannot be accepted at this event.
To dispose of oil-based paint, or any other household chemicals, residents can come to the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event on May 1 and 2, also at the Rogue Transfer Station.
