Three people have applied for the three open positions for the May 19 Ashland School Board election.

According to the Jackson County Elections Web site, Carol Horn Davis is the only candidate for Position No. 1, Eva Skuratowicz is the only candidate for Position No. 3 and Ruth Alexander is the only candidate for Position No. 4. The three open positions all have four-year terms.

As of this morning, all three candidates are running unopposed.

Those interested in running for a spot on the Ashland School Board must have their applications submitted by Thursday, March 19, at 5 p.m.

New board members will likely deal with budget problems, oversee construction projects and work on the second half of the high school curriculum redesign process.
