AZUSA, Calif. — Four players scored in double figures as the No. 20 Southern Oregon University women's basketball team downed Hope International 84-63 Tuesday at the Cougar Classic.

The Raiders improved 10-2 overall, and Hope fell to 0-8.

Whitney Scott led the Raiders with 22 points and six assists. Jacki Speer turned in her fourth straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Rhiannon Dickison added 16 points and seven rebounds.

Scott (five 3-pointers) and Dickison (four 3-pointers) combined to go 9-for-14 from the 3-point line.

The Raiders withstood an early challenge and led 42-30 at halftime.

The second half was all SOU, highlighted by a 26-11 SOU run that featured 3-pointers by Carly Wood, Scott and Dickison to give the Raiders a 76-52 lead with 7:02 to play.

SOU returns to Cascade Conference play this weekend. It hosts Concordia Friday and Corban Saturday. Both games are at 5:30 p.m. at McNeal Pavilion.

Girls Basketball

Injuries doomed Ashland (5-6) in the title game of the Lake Oswego Interstate Shootout as South Eugene rolled to a 58-37 win at Lake Oswego.

Ashland's Allison Gida left the game in the second quarter with a sprained right ankle and did not finish. Xenia Contreras also left and could not finish.

Grizzly senior guard Kelsey McKinnis led all scorers with 20 points.
