The Raiders downed NCAA Division II San Francisco State 31-6 and then defeated NAIA Oklahoma City 30-9.

SOU (4-1) next hosts NCAA Division I Portland State at 7 p.m. Monday.

In the dual against San Francisco State, freshman Mitchell Lofstedt got the Raiders started off on the right foot with a decisive 7-0 victory over Curtis Schurkamp at 125 pounds. Schurkamp entered this week ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II.

Senior Trevor Lofstedt, ranked fourth in the NAIA at 133, followed that with a pin of Naveed Bagheri in 4:18.

Barry Johnson (141), Seth Roy (149), Tommie Hooper (157), Shaun Ceremello (184), Chase Locke (197) and John Bates (285) all scored victories for the Raiders over the Gators.

Against Oklahoma City, Mitchell Lofstedt opened with a forfeit victory and Trevor Lofstedt gave SOU a 9-0 lead with a 3-1 victory over Justin Blumer.

SOU went on to win the first five matches and cruised to victory.

"Mitchell and Trevor really helped set the momentum that we wanted against San Francisco," SOU coach Mike Ritchey said. "For Mitch to beat their best wrestler put them on notice. Trevor is starting to get his passion where it needs to be. He looks like he's ready to focus on wrestling after a big term academically."

Girls Basketball

At Albany, Ashland battled foul trouble nearly from the outset in falling to West Albany 63-54 on Saturday.

Allison Gida and Natalie DelCarlo, two key contributors, each had three fouls with four minutes remaining in the first quarter as the Grizzlies (1-4) fell behind by as much as 18 in the first half. Down by 14 at the break, Ashland whittled the lead to four in the third quarter but never could get over the hump.

Kelsey McKinnis scored 25 points and made four 3-pointers. Gida added 14 and DelCarlo scored seven.

Boys Basketball

Adam Pavlich, working his way back from a hip injury, made two free throws with seven seconds left to preserve Ashland's 62-57 nonconference win over West Albany on Saturday.

The Grizzlies, who led by 13 points with three minutes remaining, nearly succumbed to full-court pressure by the Bulldogs. But Ashland (4-3) made 10 of 17 free throws in the fourth.

For the Grizzlies, Garrett Tygerson had 19 points and eight rebounds and Charlie Sebrell nine points and seven rebounds. Jamie Amrhein scored 11 and Mason Costantino 10.
