Two Ashland High cross country standouts represented Oregon well at the annual Nike Border Clash race Nov. 22 at Beaverton.

Ryland Karlovich finished 57th in the 4,400-meter boys race in 15 minutes, 14.53 seconds, while Seena Frantz placed 65th (18:12.06) in the girls race. Oregon won the girls team competition but lost the boys race.

Only the top 40 boys and girls from Oregon and Washington qualify for the race.

Karlovich, a senior, finished fourth overall and first for the Grizzlies at the Class 5A state meet, while Frantz, also a senior, finished 10th.
