The Grange Co-op has raised more than 7,500 food items to be donated to food banks.

Employees at each of the Grange Co-op locations have helped raise a total of 3,768 food items to donate to various food pantries in Jackson, Josephine and Klamath counties.

Grange Co-op is matching the number of items the employees raised, adding 3,792 items for a total of 7,560 food items to be donated.

Grange Co-op was scheduled to deliver the food on Monday to St. Vincent DePaul in Medford, the Josephine County Food Bank in Grants Pass and the Klamath/Lake County Food Bank in Klamath Falls.

"Our local community is the most important part of our business," said Darren Davidson, Grange Co-op's retail operations manager. "We want to thank our dedicated staff who donated items. We have a very giving and supportive community and we are proud to return the support by helping those in need."

The Ashland Grange Co-op store brought in the most items per employee, with 683 items collected at the 11-employee location.

The Central Point store brought in the most total items with 1,025 items of food. Grange Co-op also features two stores in Medford, as well as locations in Grants Pass, Klamath Falls and White City.

Administrative and other Grange service locations also participated in the food drive.
