There will be "An Evening of Music, Art and Spirit" in support of David La Chapelle's healing journey with cancer. The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Hidden Springs Wellness Center, 1651 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland.




The evening will begin with a chant and meditation/healing circle. Also on the program will be Hawaiian hula with dancers from Ashland's Hula O Kahawai and classical dance from India with the Ananda Natya Dance Company.




A silent auction will include prints of La Chapelle's artwork, donated services and many other artistic creations.




La Chapelle, who lives in Ashland, is an author, wilderness retreat guide, artist and lecturer. He has been a healer for 25 years, taught at the Naropa Institute, and has led countless training, retreat and Wilderness Quest groups. He is a contributor to the Institute of Noetic Sciences magazine.




He is the author of more than six books, including "Navigating the Tides of Change: Stories from Science, the Sacred and a Wise Planet" (New Society Publishers, 2001). "Navigating the Tides of Change" presents a compelling case that humankind can create a future in harmony with the Earth.
