Police responded to an alarm call at O'Ryan's Irish Pub in downtown Ashland. After investigating upon finding an unlocked front door, officers found an intoxicated employee eating a sandwich inside. The man had a warrant for his arrest charging failure to appear on the original charge of assault. The man was lodged at the Jackson County jail.

Safeway security personnel apprehended an adult male who took items without paying for them. Police cited him for theft and released him.

A black Pantera bicycle was turned into the Ashland police. It was returned to its owner.

Police viewed a man drinking a beer while standing next to his car on Tolman Creek and Mistletoe roads. He was cited for open container in public.




Monday, 4:47 p.m. &

Officers received information from a mandatory reporter that stated she had been made aware of a 6-year-old male who had been allowed to play outside for long periods of unsupervised time during the summer and fall of 2007. Police spoke with the parent and found nothing that indicated the child had been unsupervised.

Someone turned in a found wallet.

A driver was stopped for having expired tags. He also did not have valid liability insurance and his vehicle was towed.




Monday, 12:27 p.m. &

A driver was stopped for failure to obey a traffic control device. She was found to have a suspended license and no insurance. Her vehicle was towed.

While on foot patrol in the area, police located two men drinking beer near the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Water Street. They were cited for drinking in public.
