Police contacted a man walking on Tolman Creek Road. He was intoxicated and admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. His parole officer was contacted and a detainer was placed on him. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Jackson County jail.




Sunday, 2:40 a.m. &

Ashland police responded to a report of an injury motor vehicle collision on California Street between Quincy and East Main streets. The driver was arrested for DUII, three counts of assault, six counts of reckless endangerment, three counts of criminal mischief and one count of reckless driving. Three passengers in the vehicle suffered injuries and were transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center. The driver, who was also injured, provided a breath sample. His blood alcohol content was 0.14.

Police contacted a male adult transient near the intersection of Pioneer and East Main streets who was too intoxicated to care for himself. The man was transported to detox.




Saturday, 11:30 p.m. &

A man reported that someone kicked the right rear quarter panel of his car, causing a large dent just behind the gas tank access door. He said this occurred sometime during the night while the car was parked in the Greensprings parking lot off of Wightman Street.

A female SOU student reported two pairs of her underwear stolen from her dorm room between April 28 and May 10.

Officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence in the 600 block of Chestnut. It was later determined to be unfounded.

A woman reported that someone stole her red Nishiki mountain bike with white lettering from her backyard sometime during the night.

A driver was stopped for a traffic violation. He was found to have a misdemeanor suspended license. He was cited and released.

A man said that someone stole his wallet and his shoes from an unlocked locker at the YMCA.




Saturday, 1:45 p.m. &

An anonymous person turned in a handgun to Ashland police to have it destroyed. The handgun was seized and will be destroyed.




Saturday, 10:49 a.m. &

Police picked up a found bike in the 800 block of Iowa Street. The silver, 18-speed Murray Toro mountain bike had been left on the curb in front of the residence.

A man was driving a vehicle that was stopped for traffic violations. He was arrested for DUII. He was cited and released to a sober adult.

Six minors were issued citations for alcohol violations.




Friday, 10:20 p.m. &

An adult who was too intoxicated to care for himself was taken to detox.




Friday, 9:28 p.m. &

A shoplifter was arrested.




Friday 8:24 p.m. &

Two juveniles were issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol and one minor was issued a citation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The juveniles were released to their parents.

A man was cited for following too closely after causing a collision with another vehicle.

Police confiscated a marijuana bong to be destroyed.




Friday, 2:32 p.m . &

Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the bandshell in Lithia Park. A man was subsequently arrested charging disorderly conduct and harassment. He was later cited and released to appear on those charges. Another man was arrested charging disorderly conduct, harassment, attempted escape and unlawful possession of psilocybin mushrooms. He was lodged at the Jackson County jail.




Friday, 2:05 p.m. &

Detectives observed two males exchange money and an unknown substance, (concealed in hand). The officers followed the two males and two other males as they walked into Lithia Park via the dirt portion of Pioneer Street. Police contacted the four males on the hillside above the area known as the bottling plant. There was a bag of marijuana lying on the ground in plain view between where two men were sitting. All of the men were run for wants and warrants. One man returned with a valid warrant for his arrest out of Washington state. He was lodged in the Jackson County jail on the warrant and was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Another man was cited and released on possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

The manager of Radio Shack was arrested for theft. She admitted to making false returns and stealing $3,300 over the last three months. She was cited and released.

A man reported the theft of gas from the Astro 76 gas station.




Thursday, 1:30 p.m. &

A woman reported her purse and book bag were stolen from her unlocked vehicle sometime during the night while it was parked on the 100 block of Garfield Street.

A woman reported that someone entered her car and took her wallet on the 200 block of Palm Avenue.

A woman reported the theft of CDs and a camera from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 100 block of Garfield Street overnight.
