The Inner Child Caf&

233; will remain open for a few more weeks thanks to donations from locals, but co-owners April Starlight and Ramona Rubio are still looking for investors to keep the business running.

"One mother said she couldn't sleep after reading that the Inner Child Caf&

233; would be forced to close its doors," Starlight said. "She called and said we have to find a solution."

A group of Inner Child Caf&

233; "regulars" joined together on Thursday to put on a fundraiser for Friday. People donated their services and handmade goods for a raffle. Thousands of dollars in donations were taken over the phone and internet.

"We are also checking into some who expressed an interest in making long-term investments," Starlight said.

Camp Inner Child will begin on Wednesday, May 21.

"We want to stay open for the families of Ashland," Starlight said. "We occupy a large space and are willing to discuss how it can be used for conferences, meetings or performances. We will cater to the needs of the community. All of the scheduled shows are back on."
