Monday, 5:33 a.m. &

Police responded to the area of Briscoe School for a disturbance. After investigation, officers found probable cause to believe that a man had walked into North Main Street in front of a car and threw an object (likely a snowball) at the windshield. This caused the driver of the car to swerve and run into a telephone pole. Police lodged the man at the Jackson County jail on charges of disorderly conduct, reckless endangering and criminal mischief.




Sunday, 9:19 p.m. &

A man reported witnessing two men walking through the SOU Family Housing parking lots looking at various cars. One entered a large white van in the parking lot. Police could not located the men when they arrived. The van's driver door was left open and it looked like someone had searched through the front area of the vehicle. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken from the vehicle.




Sunday, 5:46 p.m. &

A man reported that sometime during the evening, someone cut the cable lock and stole his mountain bike from the side yard of a friend's house in the 200 block of Harrison Street.




Sunday, 5:21 p.m. &

Police contacted a man during an investigation into a domestic disturbance. Evidence of a domestic physical assault which occurred in December 2007 was brought to the officer's attention. The man was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County jail.

A man was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.




Sunday, 3:50 p.m. &

An adult male left the Ashland Bistro Caf&

169; without paying for his items. The owner reported that he consumed several items totaling $24.95 without paying for them.




Sunday, 8:05 a.m. &

Police responded to the 2200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard to assist the Central Point Police Department. A Central Point officer arrested a man on probable cause. He transported to the Jackson County jail.




Sunday, 2:30 a.m. &

Officers were en route from Medford to Ashland, when they saw a vehicle driving east on 10th Street in the wrong lane. When police stopped the vehicle, the driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication. The man submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and showed marked impairment. He was arrested for DUII-alcohol and submitted to a breath test at the Jackson County jail with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11 percent.

A woman knowingly gave a false date of birth to a police officer for issuance of a minor in possession citation. She was lodged in the Jackson County jail and was also cited for minor in possession by consumption.

A woman was arrested after she intentionally pushed an SOU campus public safety officer and an Ashland police officer. She was also cited for minor in possession of alcohol and was lodged at the Jackson County jail.

A man was cited and released for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption.




Saturday, 6:21 p.m. &

A man was arrested for tampering with drug records and forgery after he intentionally altered the prescription he was issued for narcotics. He was cited and released.

An SOU public safety officer reported that on Friday between 9 and 10:53 p.m. an unknown person applied graffiti to the Music Department. The graffiti read "Ashland Springs Hotel Wants You To Join&

A truck was being driven 15 miles under the speed limit on East Main Street. The driver was cited for driving while suspended and uninsured. He was cited and his vehicle was impounded.

A man reported finding an iPod at the Ashland Middle School.

Police responded to a report of graffiti on an outbuilding at the SOU tennis courts. Someone spray painted unknown symbols on a shed wall in orange spray paint.

A woman was cited for careless driving after being involved in a traffic collision.

A man was cited for skateboarding without wearing a helmet at the skate park.

A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver had no insurance on the vehicle. The driver was cited and the vehicle was impounded.




Saturday, 9:49 a.m. &

Police were dispatched out to Garden Way Park on Clark Avenue to pick up a found bike. The green, 21-speed, specialized, Hot Rock mountain bike was leaning against a tree at the north end of the park.




Saturday, 7:50 a.m. &

A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and the driver was cited for unlawful possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.




Saturday, 2:45 a.m. &

A man was arrested for DUII. He was cited and released to a sober adult.




Saturday 12:15 a.m. &

A male juvenile was arrested for criminal mischief for breaking a window at 297 East Main St. The juvenile was lodged at JDH.




Friday, 5:37 p.m. &

A man reported a careless driver. He obtained the driver's plate number and police were able to identify the driver. The man wants to pursue a citation for dangerous left turn. Officers contacted the other driver and took a statement from both parties. The case will be forwarded to municipal court.
