A man said he had reason to believe another man forged his name to financial documents, and stole more than $10,000 from a business in which they were partners.

Officers responded to the report of a reckless driver near the intersection of Avery Street and Siskiyou Boulevard. When police arrived they spoke with a woman who said that a male in a white Infiniti passed her on the right while she was stopped at a crosswalk allowing a pedestrian to cross. The woman said the Infiniti nearly struck the pedestrian as it swerved around her and turned left into the SOU parking lot. She was able to identify the driver and the vehicle. Police spoke with the driver and cited him for reckless driving.

A man said that someone he knew used stolen checks from his bank account.




Tuesday, 4:55 p.m. &

Police responded to Albertson's for a cooperative shoplifter in custody. The man admitted to taking a bottle of vanilla without paying for it. He also had a warrant for failure to appear on a trespass II charge. He was taken before the Ashland municipal court judge. He was arraigned on the failure to appear charge and cited for the theft III charge.

A female adult was taken into protective custody after she was found to be a harm to herself. She was transported to Ashland community hospital and released.
