Ashland band One Horse Shy plays what they describe as "the culmination of 100 years of roots music distilled into a powerful blend of evocative ballads and foot-stomping roots rock."

With influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Gillian Welch and Bill Monroe to James McMurtry, One Horse Shy features singer/songwriters Mandy Bryn and Cris Kelly, bassist Mysha Caruso, drummer Bryan Helfrich and the recent addition of Bob Evoniuk on dobro, lap steel guitar and vocals.

The group has developed a following from Northern California to Portland and is wrapping up their debut album.

Today, they'll play a show at the Siskiyou Brew Pub, 31 Water St., Ashland. The show starts at 9 p.m. and there is a $9 cover charge.
