PORTLAND &

Cascade Collegiate Conference-leading Southern Oregon University routed Warner Pacific 78-59 Saturday night in a women's basketball game.




The teams combined on a 4-for-33 effort from 3-point range, but the Raiders (23-3, 14-2 CCC) snagged 17 offensive rebounds and scored 26 points off 35 Warner Pacific turnovers.




Jackie Speer led three SOU players in double figures with 21 points to go with her 17 rebounds and five steals. Chelsey Muri and Rhiannon Dickison each added 12 points.




Bethany Baumann led the Knights with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Meghan Ainsworth chipped in 11 points and four boards.




Men's basketball




At Portland, Jalonta Martin scored 11 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead Warner Pacific to an 84-77 win over Southern Oregon on Saturday.




The Knights outrebounded the Raiders 44-33 to help overcome 17 turnovers.




Kory Mahr and Ryon Pool had 13 points and six rebounds apiece to lead a balanced Raider attack &

five SOU players scored in double figures.




The Southern Oregon University men and women both travel to Klamath Falls Tuesday to take on Oregon Tech.




Girls basketball




At Klamath Falls, Brenna Heater scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds to help No. — Ashland keep its perfect Southern Sky Conference record intact by winning its 20th straight game, 61-29, over Klamath Union.




The Grizzlies had 14 steals in the game and took a 28-4 lead after the first quarter. Heater scored 12 points and Kelsey McKinnis scored all 11 of her points in the first quarter. Allison Gida had 14 points and three steals, while Natalie Del Carlo scored 11 for Ashland (20-2, 9-0 SSC).




Ashland's Heidi Siebenlist recorded four steals and Layla Zare secured seven rebounds.




Paige Holloway led Klamath Union (3-14, 2-7 SSC) with 11 points.

Prep wrestling




At Eagle Point, Julian Ewald and Joe Hatch qualified for state and led an Ashland team that had eight placers overall at the Southern Sky Conference district meet Saturday.




Ewald fell in the 189-pound title bout and Hatch lost in the heavyweight finals.




Also for Ashland, Cody Remington (125), Issa Shahin (160) and Josh Scarminach (171) took fourth, just missing spots in the state meet, while Jake Scarminach (145) placed fifth and August Hadick (125) and AJ Adams (140) placed sixth.
