At Coos Bay, Brenna Heater compiled game highs of 21 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for Ashland, which closed with a 12-0 run in a 44-29 Les Schwab South Coast Invitational quarterfinal win over Myrtle Point on Thursday.




Myrtle Point went on a big run toward the end of the third quarter and scored the opening basket of the final period to cut Ashland's lead to 32-29, but the Grizzlies pitched a shutout thereafter.




The Grizzlies (9-2) assisted on 17 of 18 baskets, led by Allison Gida's four before she was sidelined by a tailbone injury in the first half.




Kelsey McKinnis added 12 points and made both 3-pointers for Ashland, which will face Marist in the semifinals today at 1:45 p.m.
