On Dec. 8 and 15, members of Kiwanis joined with members of the Ashland High School (AHS) Key Club to ring bells for the Salvation Army to help them collect funds for their many programs for the needy.

Both the Kiwanis Club and the AHS Key Club have been volunteering for Salvation Army programs for many years.

As part of its Christmas Giving Tree program, the public was invited to select a gift card with a child's name and the child's wish for a present. The tree was placed at Albertson's Grocery Store in Ashland.

Kiwanis and AHS Key Club members shopped for the gift wishes remaining on the tree and wrapped all the Christmas gifts on Dec. 17. Gifts of toys and clothing were provided to 99 children of 42 families.

Then on Dec. 19, members of Kiwanis, joined by several members of the AHS Key Club, delivered bouquets of Christmas flowers, and holiday cards made by the Key Club, to all the residents of the Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland. In addition, the Linda Vista residents were serenaded to a medley of Christmas carols.

The Kiwanis Club provides support to many programs for children and seniors throughout the greater Ashland community. For more information call 488-8065.
