The Ashland High boys and girls basketball teams will host three teams each in the third annual Ashland Rotary Hoop Classic, Friday and Saturday at Mountain Avenue Gym.




Marshfield, Summit and Port Angeles will travel here for the boys tournament, while North Medford, Marshfield and Summit visit for the girls event.




The tournament features four games each day, starting with Friday's 2:30 p.m. girls game between North Medford and Marshfield.




The Ashland girls face Summit at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the Ashland boys host Port Angeles (Wash.) at 7 p.m.




On Saturday, the first game tips off at 2 p.m., while the Ashland teams play at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.




Admission is $2 per person or a can of food. Proceeds will be used to purchase a new wrestling mat for Ashland High.




Fencing




Zack Markovich won a youth 14-and-under classic foil tournament at the Southern Oregon Fencing Center on Saturday.




Markovich beat out runner-up Desiree Miatke and third-place finishers Lindee Newman and Carson Newman.




Miatle took the women's division, while Newman won both the 12-and-under bracket and the 10-and-under division.
