Gumshoe Gourmet will present an interactive murder mystery set in the Rogue Valley. The dinner dancing and entertainment will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the Grand Ballroom at the Ashland Springs Hotel, 212 E. Main St., Ashland.

Written and directed by Lyda Woods, the story opens in 1978, at Scarlet Ribbons, a Southern Oregon winery, belonging to Preston Jenkins, playboy, timber baron, and Disco nut.

Other characters include an Italian-American winemaker with an explosive recipe for Huckleberry Pinot, a Disco-Karate champion, a charismatic goddess-worshipper who leads a grape blessing ceremony, a Stevie Nicks-style rock star, a former Nasa Engineer turned smudge pot artist, and other surprises.

The actors interact with the guests throughout the evening, even sitting and eating the three-course dinner with guests.

Guests can also participate as assistant detectives, going on clue tours including these activities: suspect interviews, disco dancing lessons, wine tasting lessons, and rock star lessons.

The cast includes Cassandra Wass, Joe Charter, Jamison Challeen, Sheila Baker, Victoria Stewart, Orion Bradshaw, Kristina Bernette, and Amy Lytle Bielby.

Tickets are $75 each and available at Paddington Station, Ashland, or by calling 535-5494. This event has sold out in past years, so reserve tickets early.
