A man known to police officers located lost property belonging to an Ashland Police officer and after several chances denied having the item. On Monday, the man was confronted again and after first denying, eventually admitted to having the property and turned it over to the officer. The man was placed under arrest for the theft of mislaid/lost property. He was transported and lodged at Jackson County Jail.




Monday, 1:19 p.m. &

Officers responded to a report of a male removing his clothes in the area of Siskiyou Boulevard and Park Street. Officers located the naked male in his apartment after some bystanders had assisted him back to the apartment. Police took the male into protective custody and transported him to RVMC on a mental health hold.




Monday, 3:38 p.m. &

Ashland police received a report of three co-operative shoplifters in custody at Bi-Mart. When officers arrived they spoke with a male juvenile and a female juvenile who had been observed taking items from the store and making no attempt to pay for them. The third person was the mother of the female juvenile. She had not taken any items and she was not charged. The two juveniles each stole merchandise exceeding $50.00 in value and will be referred to JDH on charges of Theft II.




Monday, 8:01 p.m. &

Police responded to the report of a hit and run accident that had occurred within the last hour on Indiana Street and Oregon Street. Officers spoke with the victim who informed them that an unknown model red midsize SUV had backed into her car.
