Southern Oregon University volleyball player Lindsey Stone has been named the Cascade Conference player of the year.
The former Ashland High star led the Raiders to the co-championship in the conference.
Josh Rohlfing, in his first year after moving over from Ashland High, was named co-coach of the year with College of Idaho's Liz Mendiola. SOU and C of I tied for first.
Joining Stone on the conference first team were SOU middle hitters Richelle Millsap and Mia Wortel.
Senior outside hitter Jaclyn Hamilton-Smith received honorable mention.
Stone, the conference leader in assists with 12.5 per game, was tabbed league setter of the week three times during the season.
Millsap, a senior, finished the regular season third in the Conference in hitting percentage at .363 and seventh in kills with 278.
Wortel, the conference leader in hitting percentage at .396, tallied 205 kills in only 56 games, good for second in the conference with 3.66 kills per game. The junior was third in the league with 1.36 blocks per game.
Hamilton-Smith was eighth in the conference in hitting percentage (.280) and kills per game (3.22), while finishing 12th in service aces.
The Raiders will play in the NAIA Region I tournament in Spokane, Wash., starting Thursday. They open against Oregon Tech at noon.
