Friday, 10:08 a.m. &
A man on the 700 block of Terra Ave reported that he had an accidental discharge while cleaning his 9mm. A welfare check was done on all of the surrounding neighbors. Police located the round in the doorjamb of the man's apartment.
Friday, 2:40 p.m. &
A juvenile male was arrested and released for shoplifting from Safeway. He was also cited for minor in possession &
Friday, 9:01 p.m. &
A man at the Ashland Motel reported witnessing a subject leave a motel room that was not being used. The subject had been illegally staying in the room since Thursday. He was arrested and lodged for trespass I, theft of service and open container.
Friday, 11:07 p.m. &
A site manager for the Mobius was cited for overcrowding after the occupancy of the building was found to be nearly twice it's maximum limit. There will also be additional citations issued to the owners of the venue.
Saturday, 9:33 a.m. &
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Clinton St to check out the theft of a child's patio chair from the font porch of the residence. The theft occurred sometime in the last few nights. The child's bistro type chair was painted purple, has wooden slats and folds up. Officers suggested the resident canvas the neighborhood and give out a description of the chair.
Saturday, 1:25 p.m. &
Officers noticed an adult male lying on the side of the road. The male told the officers that he was very depressed. Police asked if he would like to talk to a mental health professional at RVMC. The male stated he did, he was transported to RVMC where he voluntarily admitted himself.
Saturday, 4:34 p.m. &
A woman reported that she found a street sign in her yard. The sign turned out to be the pole advertising streets Faith Ave and Mae St. and a "yield" sign. The pole was bent about three and a half feet up and was broken off at the bottom. It appeared that the pole had been struck by a vehicle and moved to a different location.
Saturday, 11:35 p.m. &
Police responded to a complaint of a loud party on Sheridan St. When officers arrived in the area, they could hear several subjects yelling and talking loudly at the residence from a distance of about 4 houses away. As officers approached, they contacted a female who was holding a beer and appeared under 21 years of age. Police identified her and cited her for minor in possession. Police also contacted a resident of that address and issued her a citation for unnecessary noise.
Sunday, 6:20 a.m. &
An adult female was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol). She was found to have no valid driving privileges and was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. She was cited and released.
Sunday, 10:27 a.m. &
A woman reported a bicycle as having been in her driveway on Maple way for about 4 days. She contacted neighbors and nobody knew whom the bicycle belonged to. Bicycle stored in APD property.
Sunday, 4:50 p.m. &
Police stopped a female for a traffic violation. The subject was unable to provide current proof of insurance so police called the insurance company who informed officers that her insurance policy had been cancelled in August 2007. She was cited and her vehicle was impounded.
Monday, time unknown &
A man reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and took his XM radio and a flashlight from the passenger seat. The vehicle was parked in his drive way.
Monday, 10:15 a.m. &
A man reported that an unknown suspect had unlawfully applied spray paint on numerous locations throughout the humanities building at Ashland High School.
Monday, 8:06 p.m. &
Officers responded to the report of vandalism at the High School. When police arrived they spoke with a teacher who informed them that between 10 a.m. and 7:50 p.m. unknown subjects threw two rocks through windows in his classroom. Also damaged by one of the rocks was a framed poster. The teacher had already notified his principal.
