Ashland Police Department Reports














Friday, 1p.m. &

Police observed a 16-year-old male known to have a felony warrant for his arrest at Evo's. The juvenile was contacted and police explained the reason for contacting him. He attempted to evade arrest by running away, however after a foot pursuit he was arrested in the alley behind the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's new theatre. Juvenile had a no bail warrant from Butte County, California charging probation violation on original charges of arson, burglary, possession of tools with intent to vandalize and false information given to a police officer. He was lodged in Jackson County Juvenile Detention pending extradition to California.




Friday, 4 p.m. &

An unknown person(s) entered the complainant's backyard via the locked gate on the south side of the house (causing damage to the gate) and stole a Sulcata Tortoise that was contained in a pen in the back yard. Estimated value $300.00 retail cost of the Tortoise.




Friday, 8:18 p.m. &

Police viewed a gray Ford stuck on an embankment. Police spoke with the driver who had a suspended driver's license through Utah. The driver was cited for driving without a license and his vehicle was impounded.




Friday, 10 p.m. &

An adult male sold marijuana on Calle Guanajuato. He was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail.




Friday, 11:53 p.m. &

A known juvenile was cited and released to his parents after he was found intoxicated and knocking at the door of a residence he thought was a friend's house. The juvenile knocked on the door and refused to leave until just before police arrived. The owner of the house did not know the juvenile and did not wish to press charges for trespass.




Saturday, 1:27 a.m. &

A juvenile was cited for minor in possession &

alcohol, after he was contacted and found to be intoxicated at 7-Eleven.




Saturday, 6:40 a.m. &

A white Jeep Cherokee was reported as blocking the north bound lane of traffic on Tolman Creek Rd. After an unsuccessful attempt at contacting the owner, the vehicle was towed by Dick's Towing.




Saturday, 3:40 p.m. &

Two adult males were cited for skateboarding without helmets at the Ashland skate park on Water St.




Saturday, 4:21 p.m. &

A woman was stopped for a traffic violation. While she was looking in her glove box for vehicle registration and insurance information, police viewed a baggy of marijuana in open sight. The marijuana was confiscated and she was issued a citation for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.




Saturday, 11:12 p.m.- Officers responded to an address on the 600 block of Normal Ave. Once on the scene police found a white male adult with a laceration on his back about — foot in length. The male was transported to Ashland Community Hospital where he was treated. After investigation, it was found that a female juvenile visiting the residence with the male inflicted the wound. The juvenile was lodged at the Juvenile Detention Hall.




Sunday, 10:40 p.m. &

Police responded to the report of a suicidal juvenile. Police spoke with juvenile who had cut her wrist with a razor blade. She was medically cleared by Ashland Fire and Rescue, taken into protective custody, and transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center where she was released to their care.
