Mia Wortel blasted 16 kills without an error and Emily Stone contributed 14 digs as the Southern Oregon volleyball team extended its winning streak to 15 matches with a 30-15, 30-14, 30-21 romp Friday night over Cascade College.




The Cascade Conference victory improved the 14th-ranked Raiders to 20-4 overall and 15-1 in league play with five matches left in the regular season. Cascade fell to 4-17 and 1-14.




The win allowed the Raiders to stay tied atop the league standings with 10th-ranked The College of Idaho, which trounced Corban in straight games.




Southern, which hasn't lost since Sept. 7, dominated every phase of the match with an efficient offense that hit at a .321 clip while producing 47 kills. Wortel led the way, along with Samantha Yutzie (11 kills) and Richelle Millsap (nine kills). Setter Lindsey Stone added 31 assists, three digs and two kills.




Cascade was led by Rachel Fleetwood, who finished with eight digs, six assists and five kills. Amanda Cochran added five kills and four digs and Ashli Itami had eight digs.




Southern plays Warner Pacific (9-12, 5-11) on Saturday.
