Quarterback Danial White scrambled for a 45-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and Matt Hedges came through with the game-clinching interception as Ashland beat Upper Rogue 20-14 in a Pop Warner Pee Wee playoff game Wednesday at Raider Stadium.




The victory advances Ashland (7-1), made up of players ages 11 to 13, to the Rogue Valley finals, where it will face Medford Raiders, noon Saturday at Spiegelberg Stadium.




Ashland also scored on White's 45-yard touchdown pass to James Skinner and White's 1-yard quarterback sneak.




Hedges' interception came with 50 seconds left in the game and Upper Rogue threatening.




Also playing key roles for the Grizzlies was the offensive line: Mason Montgomery, Ryan Bottimore, Niilo Snyder, Craig Contreras, Jared Cataldi and Joe Hearn.




Ashland is 1-1 against Medford this season. The Raiders won the last meeting between the two teams 16-12, Ashland's first loss in two years. Admission to the championship game is $2 per person.
