Reid Honeywell scored on a deflected ball in the 23rd minute and Nate Roupp scored on a corner kick from Alex Murray in the 30th minute to give Ashland a 2-0 first-half lead over Mazama in a Southern Sky Conference boys soccer game Saturday at Ashland Middle School.




The Grizzlies (7-2-2, 4-1 SSC) went on to beat the Vikings 4-0.




Also for Ashland, Terren Ahran scored in the 66th minute and Felipe Vitar, a freshman exchange student from Chile playing in his first varsity match, scored in the 72nd minute.




Girls soccer




At Klamath Falls, Amanda Greenstein scored two goals against Mazama in the first half to help Ashland run away with the 4-0 Southern Sky Conference win.




Chloe Deckwar also scored in the first half, getting an assist from Greenstein. MacKenzie Hedges scored the Grizzlies' final goal in the 72nd minute on a pass from Mimi Charter.




Women's volleyball




At Olympia, Wash., Richelle Millsap pounded out 11 kills and Leah Bergstrom had eight to lead 21st-ranked Southern Oregon to a three-game sweep of Evergreen State, 30-9, 30-21, 30-16, in Cascade Conference play Saturday.




The Raiders improved to 17-4 with their 12th straight victory, while Evergreen State dropped to 0-12.




Molly Grossmann doled out 23 assists for SOU, with Emily Stone adding 17 digs, Whitney Riehl posting nine digs and Samantha Yutzie totaling seven kills.




Women's soccer




At Salem, Corban College freshman Genessa Neeser scored her first collegiate goal as the Warriors (9-8, 6-3 CCC) edged Southern Oregon (7-7-3, 3-4-2) in Cascade Conference action.




Neeser scored following a corner kick by Erin Laughlin, with Sheree Kuehl nudging the ball to the freshman for the eventual game-winner about 10 minutes into the second half.




Corban junior goalie Karyn Allen from Merlin stopped a potential tying goal by SOU's Judi Dietz.
