The Ashland Rowing Club hauled in 23 medals, including 13 golds, at the Canadian Open Masters Rowing Championships on Aug. 17 through 19 at Elk Lake near Victoria, British Columbia.




Racing a course more than 1,000 meters long in singles, pairs, doubles, coxed and coxless fours, quads and eights, ARC made the most of the long drive by entering as many events as possible.




Among the gold medal winners, Scott Knox won the lightweight singles title, Jennifer Stroke and Diane Green teamed up to capture a women's doubles championship, and ARC also won a mixed eight gold with a boat powered by Carl Prufer, Ron Iverson, Jay Schindler, Joe Lsa, Becky West, Jean Crawford, Tammy Achurra, Sandy Friend and cox Toni Knox.




The local club also brought hom six silver medals and four bronzes.
