A lunar eclipse will last from 2:52 a.m. until 4:22 a.m. Tuesday.

Much of the West Coast, including Oregon, will have some of the best viewing in the nation.

The moon will turn a shade of copper, red or brown, depending on exact conditions, as it slips into the shadow of the earth.

Lunar eclipses are safe to watch with the naked eye and binoculars and telescopes will enhance the view..
