An open house is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Wellness Center, Mineral Springs and Gardens, 2165 W. Jackson Road.

A Burden Basket Ceremony offered by a Cherokee, Marie Hunter-Ripper will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This service is free. The afternoon offers Friendship Bundle and Power Shield workshops facilitated by Christine Hunter-Robinson and Mike Fire Eagle Thurman. There is a $20 fee for each workshop to cover materials. Hunter-Robinson is the only certified spiritual regression therapist in Southern Oregon. She also is the Executive Director of Winterspring, a center for grief and loss located in Ashland. Thurman is a workshop facilitator bringing his intuitive skills to his practice as a massage therapist.

Duane Smith, an owner of Lithia Springs Resort and Gardens, where the Center is located "has developed a beautiful atmosphere and tangible gateway to a world of seemingly intangible energies. Here we are able to practice the old ways bringing forth the ancient memories placed on our hearts brought forth into the present. Allowing an opening to a gateway of better health, community and oneness", says Marie Hunter-Ripper.

Participants are offered many healing modalities including the mineral springs tubs and swimming pool area at Jackson Wellsprings. The Wellness Center will schedule appointments for Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Healing Touch, Reiki, Massage Therapy, Spiritual Regression Therapy (LBL), Watsu, Yoga, Workshops, Health Readings, Medicine Wheel Natal Charts, community education and more.

"It's time to remember, honor and show respect to our ancestors, each other and the land. We're still here, the First Nations People, and stronger in numbers and ceremonies than ever. We're dreaming it back and this event calls upon us to heal and embrace all that is sacred," said Hunter-Ripper.
