Three Ashland medical offices were burglarized Monday night. Police said they believe the thieves were looking for drugs and money.

"Cash and narcotics were taken," Ashland police Sgt. Jim Alderman said. "We think they went in with the intent to find narcotics. They didn't take the computers or electronics."

Two of the establishments, Southern Oregon Family Practice and Ashland Orthopedic Associates, are located next to each other on Maple Street. The third business, Full Circle Chiropractic, is located off Siskiyou Boulevard.

Alderman said the crimes may be related because the door at Full Circle was forced open in a way that was similar to the break-in at one of the offices on Maple Street. Family Practice was the only business to lose narcotics. Alderman said he did not know what kind of drugs were taken. He said a bread-box-sized lock box was taken from a locked cabinet. The lock on the cabinet was broken, he said.

He said all three medical offices lost small amounts of cash. At Full Circle, he said, the thieves went through drawers until they found keys to a locked cabinet. Petty cash was taken from the locked cabinet, Alderman said.
