North Bend blasted 20 hits in two games to become the first team to sweep the Ashland Pilots in an American Legion doubleheader Monday.

North pulled out Game — 8-7 in eight innings before cruising to a 9-2 victory in Game 2, dropping the Pilots to 12-3.

Owen Baldrica went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple and Max Gordon was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double to lead Ashland at the plate in the opener. Garrett Tygers started on the mound for the Pilots. He gave up six hits in 5 1/3 innings, struck out three and walked two.

In the nightcap, Gordon went 2-for-4 with two doubles and Tygerson added a double.

Lucas Stone started for Ashland and surrendered five runs on seven hits and four walks.

The Pilots host Eagle Point on Wednesday. Game — of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
