Jenna Wixon-Genack and Isabella Thorndike of the Ashland Rowing Club finished seventh overall in the doubles consolation finals at the U.S. Rowing National Youth Championship at Harsha Lake on Sunday.
The duo's time of 8:07 was the fourth-fastest Sunday and good for first place in their heat. They also shaved 20 seconds off their best time only a week prior.
On Friday, the two 17-year-old juniors placed fourth to just miss qualifying for the main doubles rowing event. They were fourth in both their heats at nationals.

Southern Oregon University senior Trevor Palmer has been named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 Men's Track and Field/Cross Country first team.
Palmer is one of 10 athletes to be named to the District 8 Collegiate Team, qualifying him to compete for a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American team in the coming weeks.
The former Crater High standout is coming off a stellar senior season at SOU, earning his fourth All-American title at the NAIA National Championships just two weeks ago. Palmer placed sixth in the men's 1,500 meters, breaking his own school record by .77 seconds with a finish of 3:49.33.
Academically, Palmer is just as successful, earning the second-highest cumulative grade point average on the SOU track team with a 3.78 in psychology.
Of the 10 athletes named to the All-District team, Palmer holds the No. 7 spot for GPAs. The SOU senior was the only Cascade Conference athlete to earn the award.
