RSS Overview

As a service to its readers, who increasingly look at many different Web sites over the course of the day, the DailyTidings.com now offers free headlines via "RSS." RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary.

RSS allows news sites to easily syndicate content in a format that is quickly accessible to readers. Unlike most of DailyTidings.com, which is based on HTML, RSS uses an XML-based format. the MailTribune.com's feeds include headlines, descriptions and links to articles currently on the site. As the site is updated so are the feeds.

How to sign up for the RSS Feeds

To use RSS, you will need a special RSS news reader or aggregator that will allow you to collect and display the RSS content. DailyTidings.com does not provide these, but there are many available for download online and many of them are free. Most news readers are applications that you download and install. Some come with browsers, such as Mozilla's Firefox browser. Others are web-based services you sign up for that work inside your browser.
