  • A series of fires burning in the area of Wagner Creek have prompted an evacuation of properties along a mile-long stretch of Wagner Creek Road between mile markers 11 and 12, a Jackson County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said.
Although there does not appear to be any residences on that stretch of Wagner Creek Road, properties within that mile need to be evacuated of any campers immediately, said sheriff's spokeswoman Andrea Carlson.
Several residences in the areas of Anderson Butte and Wagner Creek have been notified that an evacuation may be necessary, Carlson said.
Tuesday's thunderstorms ignited 34 new wildfires in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, said spokesman Paul Galloway, and this afternoon's thunderstorm ignited about 15 more.
