Current proposals include narrowing highway lanes to add a bike lane and sidewalk on each side between Charlotte Anne Road in South Medford and Fern Valley Road in Phoenix, all while maintaining five lanes. The proposal also would reduce the four lane section from Blue Heron Park in Phoenix to the southern city limits to three lanes, adding a 14-foot turn lane and bike/pedestrian shoulder.
